Welcome to Business Takeout
In a move that’s stirring up excitement in both the hospitality and social media worlds, Ramada by Wyndham has launched a contest that’s redefining the meaning of ‘CEO’. But don’t polish your resume just yet – this Chief Eats Officer position is all about appetite, not aptitude.
The luxury hotel chain is on the hunt for a food-loving globetrotter to embark on a whirlwind tour of Ramada locations across five continents. The lucky winner will be tasked with the enviable job of sampling local cuisines and experiences, all while documenting their journey for the brand’s social media channels.
“This isn’t your typical 9-to-5,” says a Ramada spokesperson. “We’re looking for someone who can turn a plate of food into a story and a hotel stay into an adventure.”
The itinerary reads like a foodie’s fever dream, with potential stops including the bustling streets of Seoul, the historic pubs of Belfast, the opulent eateries of Dubai, the vibrant markets of Sao Paolo, and the tropical paradise of Honolulu.
But what’s in it for the winning ‘CEO’? Aside from the obvious perks of a globe-spanning culinary adventure, Ramada is sweetening the deal with a $10,000 travel stipend and an additional $5,000 in cash. Oh, and did we mention up to 21 nights of hotel stays covered by Wyndham?
Before you start packing your bags and your appetite, there are a few caveats. Applicants must be legal residents of the U.S. or Canada, possess a valid passport, and be available for up to three consecutive weeks of travel between April 1 and June 30, 2025.
The application process is as modern as the job itself. Aspiring CEOs have until October 22 to post a TikTok video showcasing their passion for food and travel, and explaining why they’re the perfect fit for the role.
“We’re not just looking for a good eater,” the Ramada spokesperson adds. “We want someone who can turn a meal into a message and a hotel stay into a must-see TikTok.”
A panel of judges will evaluate the submissions based on the applicant’s food and travel enthusiasm, their ability to articulate their desire for the role, and the overall quality of their video. The top two contenders will then face off in a live video interview to determine the ultimate winner.
For those ready to trade their business suits for bibs and their boardrooms for buffets, this could be the career pivot of a lifetime. After all, in today’s digital age, being a ‘CEO’ might just be the tastiest job on the market.
